I am a creative and results-driven intellectual that has grown up in the Design and Build industry in NYC. My career started as a draftsmen building standards in an architecture firm to becoming an account & project manager. I ended that part of my profession in helping build Interior Design standards for Northwell Health Hospital systems. Late 2008, I started my certified woman-owned consultancy that won Citi and QEDC's Innovative startup; as a social entrepreneur advising small to midsize firms how to transition into the sustainability marketplace. From that moment on I have been advising, educating, and supporting those who want to transition their organizations to a more socially sustainable organization. Throughout my career, I have worked with for-profit and non-profit organizations in helping them:
I grew up in a family that believed in helping others, fought for others' rights, and respected all, regardless of color, status, or religion. My family roots were in Law, Architecture / Engineering, and Medicine, so as a creative, I was drawn to the Architectural influence in my family, so I developed a career in that industry. As a specifier and influencer over time, I realized that everything is built and manufactured. I saw the damages that our actions are creating, the realization that these behaviors were harming our local communities' health and the health of the world around us, how we are all connected, and each action affects others across the globe. This knowledge led me to want to be an expert in this area and help lead the change, wanting to help others be that change and wanting to find ways to move our society towards a healthier future for all. That journey started in 2008, and I continue to educate myself and others to be a positive change agent that imbeds people, planet, profit, and purpose into the organizational strategies and culture as I strive to help those organizations grow.
As a strategist, I have had to understand both macro and micro levels, combined visionary thinking about the role of business in a sustainable future with practical experience driving this kind of change through large organizations – whether as a consultant or in-house. My understanding of streamlining the process, branding, messaging, and proper communication to all levels to internal and external stakeholders have given me the ability to implement effective change as I have created champions that believe and will work to create lasting change.
